At 17:15 I have booked Greenrooms 4 to do some mixing tweaks to my final project from last year with a view to putting it online at some point  in the not to distant future. In preparation for that I am sample reinforcing the kick drum using a sample I created in Greenrooms 1 in February of 2016 using a D112 and SM57.

When I get into the studio I am aiming to achieve a bigger bass sound by duplicating one of the bass tracks, putting an extreme low shelf, somewhere around 80Hz, then compressing that track heavily with an 1176 and then bringing that into the mix to achieve something like a 1dB increase in volume on the master bus.

I’m going to also planning to do a tiny bit of work to the guitars, softening the high frequencies of the tremolo guitars and thickening up the solo sound in some way. I’m not quite sure how I am going to approach these just yet but a gentle high cut could do the job to try and remove some of the grating frequencies in the tremolo guitars.

Another update later after the studio session.
